There is no code, quest or purchase.

Each find reportedly gives two activations, one in 2026 and one in 2027. Each activation lets you claim most V-Bucks Item Shop items free for 14 days. Reported You must activate the 2026 window by December 15, 2026, 7:00 PM ET. Reported

How to get the Fortnite shop token

Nobody can guarantee a drop. Epic says every player has the same chance and that it works “just like any of the chests in Battle Royale.” Epic-confirmed What you control is how many chests you open and who you open them with.

  1. 1

Play Battle Royale or Zero Build

The token comes from chests on the Treasure Hunters island (Crossbones Isle). Battle Royale is confirmed by Epic; Zero Build is widely reported to work too. Reported Ranked and bot lobbies are reported not to drop it. Reported

  2. 2

Open as many chests as you can

Regular, Rare, Sprite and buried chests have all been reported to roll it. Reported Fortune Sprite, which reveals nearby chests, helps you find more of them per match. Epic-confirmed See our chest locations and farming routes.

  3. 3

    Watch for the banner

When it drops, a full-screen splash tells you that you found Pirate Shop Access. Reported Nothing else is needed in the match; the reward is attached to your account.

  4. 4

    Play in a full party

Press and player reports agree that when one party member finds it, everyone in the party gets it, including Squad Fill teammates. Reported Four players opening chests means four times the rolls for each of you.

Shop token FAQ: what players ask

Is the Fortnite item shop token real?

Yes. Epic’s Fortnite Status account confirmed Pirate Shop Access on November 3, 2026, and said every player has an equal opportunity to find it in Battle Royale chests. The name “shop token” comes from players, not Epic.

What is the Fortnite shop token chance?

Epic has not said. The most cited community model puts it at about 1 in 2,000 chests (about 1 in 1,000 if you already own that week’s gold skin). The viral 1 in 700,000 number has no source. See the Fortnite token chance page.

Can I buy or trade the Fortnite shop token?

No. It is tied to the account that found it and cannot be transferred. Epic calls buying accounts a scam, and buying or selling accounts breaks Epic’s rules.

Does the whole squad get the shop token?

Widely reported, yes: when one party member finds it, every player in the party receives it, including random Squad Fill teammates. Epic has not stated this rule in writing.

Do the items stay after the 14 days?

Yes, as reported. Anything you claim during your window stays in your Locker permanently. Only the free-claim window ends.

What happens if I miss the December 15 deadline?

You are reported to lose only the 2026 activation. The second activation is reported to be usable from January 1 to December 15, 2027.

Does the 14-day timer start when I find the token?

No. Per player and press reports it starts only when you press Activate Now.

Can I get the item shop token in Ranked, Creative or LEGO Fortnite?

Reports say no for Ranked and bot lobbies. Epic’s statement refers to Battle Royale chests, and Zero Build is reported to work. We have seen no report of it dropping in Creative or other experiences.

Can I gift items with Pirate Shop Access?

No. Gifting is reported to be excluded; you can only claim items for your own account.
