Last reviewed: · First published:

Found the Fortnite item shop token (Pirate Shop Access)? Activation takes three taps, but timing matters: your 14-day free-claim window starts the moment you press Activate Now. Reported

Treasure Hunters is live: chests can still drop Pirate Shop Access. Reported

2026 activation deadline

Dec 15, 2026 · 7:00 PM ET (6:00 PM GMT-6 · 00:00 UTC Dec 16)

Activate your item shop token step by step

  1. 1

Open the Item Shop from the lobby

Use the Shop tab at the top of the Fortnite lobby.

  2. 2

    Select “Plunder the Item Shop”

It appears on the Item Shop screen when your account holds Pirate Shop Access. Most guides place it in the bottom right; one places it bottom left. Reported

  3. 3

Read the screen, then press “Activate Now”

Guides report that the activation screen shows the deadline. Whatever this or any site says, the in-game screen is the authority.

  4. 4

Claim items during your 14 days

Visit the shop each day of your window. Items not in the shop during your window cannot be claimed. Reported

When to activate: timer and deadline rules

  • The timer starts on activation, not on finding the token. Reported
  • Each activation lasts 14 days. Reported
  • 2026 activation: by December 15, 2026, 7:00 PM ET (6:00 PM GMT-6, which is 00:00 UTC on December 16). Reported
  • 2027 activation: reported window January 1 to December 15, 2027; time of day not reported yet. Reported
  • Not yet clear: whether a window activated close to December 15 still runs a full 14 days. No source we trust has said; check the in-game activation screen before you leave it late.

Token not showing? Troubleshooting

  • No “Plunder the Item Shop” option: your account does not hold the token. Check that you were in the same party as the finder when the chest was opened. Reported
  • Teammate found it but you didn’t get it: reports describe sharing with the current party. If you were in a different party or left before the find, you may not be eligible.
  • Logged into the wrong account: the token is tied to one Epic account, not a console. Sign in with the account that played the match. Reported
  • Option greyed out or deadline passed: after December 15, 2026, 7:00 PM ET the 2026 activation is reported to be gone; wait for the 2027 window.
  • An item will not claim for free: it may be excluded (real-money offer, pass level, gift, or a second new Sidekick). See what you can claim.
  • Still stuck: contact Epic Player Support through the official Fortnite help site. No third party can fix or grant the token.

Activation FAQ

Can I save my Fortnite item shop token for later?

Yes, within the window. You can hold the 2026 activation until December 15, 2026, 7:00 PM ET, and the 2027 one is reported to be usable until December 15, 2027.

Can I pause the 14-day timer?

No pause option has been reported. Once activated, the 14 days run continuously.

Can I use both activations back to back?

Not in 2026. One activation belongs to 2026 and the other to 2027, each with its own window.

Activate your Fortnite item shop token from Item Shop → Plunder the Item Shop → Activate Now, before December 15, 2026, 7:00 PM ET. Back to the Fortnite shop token guide.
